A rare, 19th-Century Hawaiian landscape showing a Hilo-bound steam-engine drawing freight-cars laden with sugarcane beneath dramatic sunset skies. An exceptional work with rare historical detail by this notable French artist who exhibited widely and with success including at the Paris Salons and whose work is held in the permanent collections of museums world-wide.
