Born in Paris, Dignimont first studied at the College Juilly and then worked in London before returning to Paris to study at Académie Julian. A prolific artist and illustrator, his work reflects his love of provocative women and café life, documenting his unique insight into the mid-century, Parisian experience. The recipient of numerous medals, awards and prizes, Dignimont exhibited widely and with success over four decades, including at the Salon D’Automne, Salon des Indépendants, Salon des Tuileries, and Salon de L’Araiguée. He was also a notable book illustrator with credits for more than fifty books.
