A Parisian cityscape showing the Île de la Cité with the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris viewed from the Left Bank. Unusually elegant, block color work combined with a strong compositional sense and volume description make for a successful work by this listed Japanese Modernist and member of the Tokyo Illustrators Society. Shinbo Minami first studied (1969) at the Bigakko Alternative Art School in Tokyo, under Akasegawa Genpei and, later in his career, became associated with the Anti-Art movement.
