A bright and bold, Post-Impressionist capriccio landscape, showing an imaginary arial view of San Francisco and the San Francisco Bay, composed in vividly contrasting shades of ochre, teal, lilac and magenta.
Maude Church first studied at the Byam Shaw College of Art in London before continuing her education at the California College of Arts & Crafts in Oakland. Over the course of a long career, she has exhibited nationally and internationally with success, at both solo and group shows, including at the Amerikahaus Gallery, Berlin, Germany; the Alpert Gallery, New York; Cumner Museum of Art, Jacksonville; the Riverside Art Museum, California; the Palace of Fine Arts, San Francisco; the Oakland Art Museum and SFMOMA among others. Maude Church is listed in all relevant art reference works including Who's Who in Art, Who's Who in the West, The American Art Review and The California Art Review. She also serves as National Board Director for the Women's Caucus for Art.
