Daniel Camp painted and taught art at San Diego College in the 1980's and is known for his substantial, psychologically-penetrating figural works and portraiture in which he shows his, frequently quotidian, subjects inhabiting an apparently otherworldly or spiritual atmosphere. Camp's painting style is "dark, brooding and filled with a palpable ‘psychological tension’ between the figures.” (Viginia Lukei).
Daniel Camp has exhibited with success throughout San Diego and Southern California including at Maple Creek Art Gallery, OMS Voyage in Italia, La Jolla Village Square Gallery, (1985) and Anuska Gallery, San Diego, (1986).
