Robert Newick first studied at the University of Oregon and the Portland Academy and, later, at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art. He furthered his studies with numerous teachers including Sergie Bongart, Robert E. Wood, George Post and Rex Brandt. Newick has exhibited widely and with success throughout the west coast of the United States and is a member of both the California Watercolor Association and the Mississippi Watercolor Society. He paints exclusively in the medium of watercolor, of which he is an acknowledged master. Known for both his landscapes and figural works, Newick is also a well-known teacher.
